EarthSpark named “Sustainable Energy Initiative of the Year”

I’m delighted to share that EarthSpark’s work in Haiti was named “Sustainable Energy Initiative of the Year” by Island Innovation and The Clinton Global Initiative. Applicants hailed from around the world. The other finalists are doing great work in Greece and Puerto Rico, but it was EarthSpark’s solar microgrid scale-up that took the prize!

While accepting the award (video), we pointed out how “EarthSpark’s work is both ‘high tech’ and ‘no tech.’ It’s solar power + battery storage + smart grid tech for 24/7 power … and also deep, real partnerships with communities. BOTH are needed for true success.”
